Yamafuji Sushi Restaurant Review:

A small sushi bar, rosewood chairs, warm beige tones and soft lighting define the quiet and simple setting. The menu of traditional Japanese fare and sushi features hot and cold appetizers, noodle soups and barbecue standards including salmon, beef, chicken and vegetable teriyaki that will neither surprise nor disappoint. Start with miso soup that also comes in a seafood variety. Then choose a few sushi to start, such as smoked salmon with concentrated flavors and buttery, fatty yellowtail. It’s with the specialty rolls, however, that the creativity shines. Consider the blackened tuna roll with spicy as well as blackened tuna, avocado, tobiko, crunchy flakes and honey wasabi, and the Valentine roll with king crab,‏ tuna, crab meat and seaweed salad. The addition of mango adds a sweet tropical touch. There are also katsu or rice bowls with fried meat cutlets, udon noodle soups and teriyakis or marinated barbecued meats on the menu. Several wines by the glass and bottled saké are available.
