THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Yoshi's Japanese Sushi Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAS CHANGED NAMES Yoshi Aoki made his reputation with his sushi and his singing while he carved in the tiny I Love Mr. Sushi. But he sold that popular restaurant and for a while St. Louis did without him. He and Anny Le Seure, who runs the front of the house, returned with this larger, more handsome location with a menu that offers a little more than sushi which, of course, is great. But it's in the appetizers, items like a warm whitefish carpaccio with ponzu sauce or a sashimi salad, that this spot really shines. The menu, aside from the sushi, is brief and one can imagine making a whole meal of just the appetizers, tapas-style. Service can be haphazard when the place is full, but the wait is worth it.
