Everyone feels welcome at this casual neighborhood restaurant---young families with kids in tow, singles at the bar that fronts the open kitchen, couples side-by-side in the booths. Most dishes are cooked over an open flame in the wood-burning oven---oven-fired shrimp, the signature fire bread with Parmesan cheese, and skewers of scallops, salmon, beef and shrimp, for instance. But our favorite is the fresh-baked pizza, from a simple margherita to a version topped with spicy Buffalo chicken, blue cheese, red onion and smoked Gouda. Hot sandwiches, salads and entrées like salmon, baked and stuffed shrimp, and chicken tarragon offer something for everyone. About 40 wines are offered by the glass, including four dessert wines to accompany a decadent chocolate brownie or Key lime pie in a gingersnap crust. Sunday brunch features live jazz, Champagne, frittatas, apple pancakes and other high-carb favorites.
