Zola Bistro Restaurant Review:

For those who appreciate trendy Café Zola in downtown Ann Arbor, owners Hediye Batu and Alan Zakalik re-create the magic at Zola Bistro with an intriguing and creative menu, good service and an interesting ambience. Located at the Arbor Hills shopping center, the restaurant is a large and open space of glass, marble, steel and concrete. Entrées have global flavors, such as in the Andalusian shellfish, a mélange of clams, mussels, prawns, white beans and saffron with Manzanilla sherry; a Moroccan-style short rib tagine; and Bistro strip steak au poivre in a Calvados green peppercorn sauce. For dessert, how about the caramelized brioche pudding layered with Callebaut Belgian dark chocolate and topped with Guernsey Dairy vanilla ice cream and kumquat marmalade? Signature cocktails include the Rose Hip Martini (Ketel One, rose hip-infused simple syrup, rose water and freshly squeezed lemon juice). The extensive wine list has a nice selection of by-the-glass options and a range of domestic and international bottles at price points for every pocketbook. Craft beers round out the full bar.
