Getting Back to Nature

The revamped Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa

Rise above the day-to-day stresses of life — literally — at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, situated 5,100 feet above sea level in a distinctive alpine setting with private beach access to one of California's most exclusive lakes in this picturesque Southern California mountain community. The resort is located a mere 90 miles east of Los Angeles in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Although it has been hosting guests since 1982, the resort completed a dramatic $17 million transformation in March 2007. The redesign places a strong emphasis on creating a mountain lodge with a resort-style feel, highlighting warm colors and using natural materials such as granite and pine indigenous to the area.

The first thing that strikes you when you enter the lobby is the oversized granite fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Arrowhead.

With 173 guest rooms including ten suites and the piece-de-resistance, the 1,178 square foot presidential suite, Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa offers all the creature comforts necessary to enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. All rooms now boast 32-inch swiveling flat panel TVs, Essential Elements body and hair care products and Anichini linens. Guests can choose from stunning views of either the lakefront property or the surrounding mountains. The resort is also the perfect place to explore the surrounding area, with lake excursions, sunset cruises, walking trips to Lake Arrowhead Village or skiing at nearby Snow Valley in the winter.

Excursions into the fresh mountain air are inevitably followed by a healthy appetite, and Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa's restaurant and bar — BIN189 — highlights modern Californian cuisine including Chilean sea bass, and features fresh, indigenous foods to accompany the resort's extensive wine list in a world-class setting.

Continue to indulge in your mountain retreat holiday with a one, two or even three-hour stint at the Spa of the Pines, with a comprehensive menu of massages, body treatments, facials and hair and nail care. Pampering is the order of the day, complete with fireside relaxation areas, rain showers, a Eucalyptus steam room, an outdoor heated pool and whirlpools. More active guests can visit the fitness center with machines, free weights and a studio offering a wide variety of exercise classes including aerobics, Pilates and yoga.

The new renovations now include meeting and event spaces for 10 - 400 people equipped with state-of-the-art technology including WiFi Internet access and satellite and video teleconferencing capabilities. The resort has also added Pinnacle — an executive boardroom suite for private business retreats. The suite comes with its own lounge area, wet bar and separate business center capable of accommodating up to fourteen people.

Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is the ideal secluded getaway for those looking to get back to nature, where the air is clean and clear and the setting is picture perfect.
