Villa Toscana, as its name implies, is a Tuscan dream come true nestled in the heart of Martin & Weyrich Winery Estate Vineyards in Paso Robles. The Martin & Weyrich family purchased a rustic former dairy in 1981, styling it into an elegant and comfortable, Italian-styled bed and breakfast with eight rooms and one villa, going out of their way to get the best materials and most delicate Italian linens, custom-building every door and window, importing limestone and creating a bellissima jewel in the Paso Robles wine country.

Each suite follows the gracious Tuscan-estate motif with elegant details like aged stucco exteriors, handmade 700-count Italian linens, down pillows and duvets, cozy fireplaces, European-inspired ironwork, Italian antiques, oversized Jacuzzi tubs and sweeping views of the lush vineyards and countryside.

The suites are named after one of each of the wine varietals produced by the winery. The expansive two-bedroom villa, known as the Winemakers Residence, is furnished with Italian antiques, art and luxurious bedding as well as a dining room for ten, private garage, outdoor jacuzzi, bar for entertaining and chef's kitchen.

A gourmet breakfast is served at the bistro restaurant either on the patio—the climate is mild and Mediterranean-like with sunshiny days almost year-round—or indoors by the fireplace. For lunch and dinner guests take the short trip into town or enjoy the bistro's daily afternoon ritual of serving a copious appetizer menu with fresh baked goods, olives, cheese, charcuterie items, frittata and more—along with any of the winery's wines you might want to sample. The property's Barrel Room is ideal for parties, summer showers or business luncheons while the villa also frequently provides an idyllic backdrop for weddings, fully catered by the catering kitchen. This addition of the Villa to Martin & Weyrich Winery fulfills owner David Weyrich's vision "of the quintessential wine country retreat."

Full-service Pacere Spa offers guests facials, massages, reflexology treatments and body therapies. This is certainly one of a kind in a growing line-up of upscale hotel properties on the Central Coast. A stay at the Villa is sure to be memorable—thanks to the setting and professional staff.

Martin & Weyrich Winery is California's first and oldest producer of primarily Cal-Italian varietals producing more than 54,000 cases each year from more than 300 hand-harvested acres of estate, Paso Robles and Edna Valley vineyards. Of course, you are here for the wine and quiet, serene ambience, but there are plenty of other entertainment options. Explore the town with its small shops, great antique stores, numerous dining destinations and friendly small-town atmosphere.

There are lots of quaint museums and cultural landmarks such as The Pioneer Museum and Carnegie Library Museum. Hearst Castle or the scenic beaches of Morro Bay, Cambria and San Simeon are a short trip away. There are hot springs, hiking, horseback riding, tours of local berry or exotic herb and garden farms or tastings of cider at local apple orchards. Many of the other wineries are open daily and offer wine tours with scenic drives on country roads, tastings and chance to meet winemakers and more. Call The Wine Affair at 805-927-4016 for details.

Every May, Paso Robles holds the Paso Robles Wine Festival, one of the largest outdoor wine tasting events in California featuring tastings, concerts, wine dinners, a golf tournament and Hospice du Rhône.
