Stoller Family Estate

Profile: Oregon native Bill Stoller and his wife Cathy purchased the Stoller vineyard land from a cousin in 1993. The couple, co-owners in Chehalem winery, felt that the property's southern facing slopes and well-drained soil were ideal for growing wine grapes. The winery's reputation grew quickly, earning accolades from all the major wine press by the 2001 vintage. Stoller's production facility is noted as the very first LEED-certified winery in the United States and environmental consciousness is a large part of the company's philosophy.

Tasting Notes:
Stoller's 2007 SV Estate Pinot Noir offers an attractive bouquet of red fruit, rose petals, oak and spice. Bright and well balanced, it offers tart red fruit acidity and cherry, red currant and pomegranate fruit flavors. The wine's nice length evolves to include caramel and espresso notes. Accentuate the wine's attractive fruit flavors by serving it with roast pork in a cherry or pomegranate sauce. Or bring out its more earthy notes with a mushroom pasta or risotto. It would also work with a London broil or rare roast beef. You can even try it with a flourless chocolate cake.
