Husband and wife team Chaim and Elisheva Gur-Arieh come from backgrounds of biochemistry and fine arts respectively, and both spent part of their lives growing up in Israel. Their 2009 Interlude is a blend of 40 percent Zinfandel from the Shenandoah Valley, and estate-grown Primitivo, Syrah and Petit Sirah. It features aromas of blackberry with flavors of cocoa, ripe berry and smoke displaying on the palate.

Suggested Cut: This fruit-forward blend is the perfect companion to a tender, grilled chop.
