Motif Seattle (Formerly Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue)
Motif Seattle went through a three-year, multi-million dollar renovation. Starting with the common areas, it’s upped the ante in terms of décor, with vibrant, contemporary colors, new furniture and modern art in what was once a Red Lion Inn. The new restaurant, Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails, sports a gorgeous interior and inviting outdoor patio (weather permitting, that is). There is a fitness room, as well as plans to add a spa.
Previously known more for its superb location in downtown Seattle, the hotel’s revamp has increased its desirability. Location is still a huge draw for travelers, though, as it is walking distance to major Seattle attractions, such as Pike Place Market, the waterfront and excellent dining and shopping. And if you land a room with a view, the picturesque vistas of the Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains are superlative from this 319-room tower hotel.
The hotel is part of the Destination Hotels & Resorts collection and it must be said that Motif Seattle gives the city a touch of upscale chicness.
