Want to know the hottest restaurants around? For the first time ever, we have published a list of the Hot 40 Restaurants in the U.S. as part of’s Annual Restaurant Issue. Some of them are old classics, while others opened recently, but you can be sure that they are very busy, and that it can be difficult to get a table.

Searsucker restaurant, in the happening Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, CA, earned a place on the select list.
