Naturally, we’re fans of the Mandarin Oriental hotels, and this outpost is one of the best. Located in the Central district surrounded by Hong Kong’s top shopping, it’s also home to some of our favorite city hangouts. The two-floor spa is divine, with its Turkish hammam, Moroccan rasul and Roman laconium, not to mention the vitality pools, ice fountains, amethyst crystal steam room and — most needed at the end of the day — Zen relaxation room. Both Amber restaurant and MO Bar were designed by Adam Tihany, and the bi-level latter is a chic gathering place, from its dim sum breakfasts to its invitation-only concerts, if you happen to be staying at the hotel at just the right time. And when isn’t it the right time to check into the Mandarin Oriental?
