Fabulous in Philly

If you've tried the foie gras terrine at Lacroix at The Rittenhouse, home of the James Beard award-winning chef Jean-Marie Lacroix, we need say no more. You haven't? Well, the next time you stay in Philadelphia, enjoy the charm of this elegant property with its fine restaurant, elegant suites (the most spacious in the city), wonderful spa and air of indulgent European experience.

Its 98 guest rooms and 11 suites are beautifully furnished in mahogany with a view of either Rittenhouse Square or the cityscape, and guests enjoy whirlpool bathtubs, entertainment centers, mini-bars and marble bathrooms with separate dressing areas, 310-thread-count linen sheets on plush beds with pillow top mattress.

Suite

Town cars transport all guests to local appointments, museums, shopping, and restaurants. Philadelphia's landmarks are reflected in the grand hotel: A reproduction of historic Fairmount Park is featured in the lobby and the walls of our Boathouse Row Bar pay tribute to the Schuylkill River boathouses with a lighted replica.

And then there's the spa. Folks have been luxuriating at Adolf Biecker Spa and Salon for more than 60 years—Adolf Biecker is the recipient of the French government's Laurier d'Or de la Creation et de L'Elegance International Award for fashion excellence—enjoying massages and other delicious spa treatments. There's also a tranquil solarium, indoor heated pool, outdoor sundeck, sauna and steam room.

The Lobby

Additional dining options include the Boathouse Row Bar, Cassatt Lounge and Tea Room for traditional afternoon tea overlooking a beautiful outdoor garden, and Smith & Wollensky and Wollensky's Grill.

A stay at The Rittenhouse puts you right at the heart of the city in walking distance to many attractions. And you may need a digestive walk after a fabulous meal designed by chef Lacroix.
