Austin Hope Winery 2005 Syrah

The vineyard, located 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean in western Paso Robles, California, has soils that are very rocky with high amounts of clay and limestone, contributing to the solid tannins which offer structure and elegance to this 100 per cent Syrah. After aging sixteen months and filtration, this vintage offers ripe aromas of blueberry and cassis, with subtle pancetta notes. Flavors of dark berry and spices are balanced by a high-toned minerality.
