THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Awana Restaurant Review:

Awana is an elegant space with warm teak on the walls, colour from vibrant silk panels and glass screens acting as dividers. Part of its success comes from its three distinctly attractive areas, including a bar at the front that specializes in unusual cocktails with seductive names like Framboise Ninja and Easy Tiger, and a semi-circular satay bar at the back serving elegant ladies who lunch skewers of beef, lamb, Asian butterfish, tofu and capsicum. The main restaurant is serious about its food, offering the likes of shredded beef curry with coriander and coconut; grilled scallops with lime leaf, lemon grass and chilli; and stir-fry beef with ginger, garlic and soy sauce. The menu may be suspiciously long, but the cooking is delicate and accomplished. It's expensive, but you're getting an authentic, top Malaysian restaurant and that's hard to find in London. The wine list is well matched to the spicy cooking. Service is delightful and the atmosphere is casual chic.
