The Bancroft Restaurant Review:

The Bancroft proves great steaks are not just found in Boston. If you are looking to escape the city for dinner, head about 20 minutes north of Boston to Burlington. The restaurant is a concept from the Webber Group, which owns and operates Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham and The Estate at Moraine Farm in Beverly. The beautifully designed space features soaring ceilings, steel- and glass-encased private rooms (including a private wine room), sky-high windows and super-soft leather booths. We recommend getting started with a signature Hub Punch: a fruity combination of the restaurant’s exclusive private select rum blend, served in a clear bottle flask. Pillowy corn and ricotta stuffed ravioli, finished with savory black truffles and sweet Italian honey, should not be missed. Local oysters, Wellfleet clams and tiger shrimp cocktail, as well as fresh lobster tails, are among the raw bar selections. Be sure to come here hungry: entrées and sides are enormous. For steaks, we like the 28-day Prime aged rib-eye and the tender bone-in filet. The Bancroft's steaks are served à la carte, so pair them with sides like sautéed garlicky local mushrooms, cheesy potato gratin, creamed spinach topped with a fried egg or white corn polenta. If you can save room for dessert, the hot chocolate cheesecake served with fresh raspberries is worth the indulgence.
