Neighborhood Restaurant Review:
Good food, interesting beers, and a hip ambience all weave together to create a nod to the gastropubs of London. Chef Daniel Orta-Estrada creates innovative American cuisine and produces some of the better burgers in town --- the NH features caramelized onion, Gruyère, blue cheese and arugula while the 777 sports béarnaise with baby spinach and tomato confit on the juicy beef. And don't skip the sweet potato fries. But here's the deal: the restaurant prides itself in not serving ketchup, but the smoked chipotle purée will make you forget you even asked. The down-home cooking with gourmet twists continues with a pork belly melt on focaccia; grilled cheese sliders with artisanal cheese on walnut baguette; jalapeño mac ‘n’ cheese; and cheddar corn dogs with smoked chipotle aïoli. Steak or shrimp tacos arrive as a trio, and there are 27 microbrews on tap and 70 bottled beers for pairing. Food is served until midnight nightly, so there’s a good local late-night scene; a speakeasy-style bar is in the back.
