Oenotheque by Wine Universe Restaurant Review:

Oenotheque by Wine Universe is one restaurant that takes its Swiss tipples very seriously, thanks to Swiss vintner and co-founder Dominique Giroud. Oenotheque translates to wine repository, but what a dull moniker for this slick glass-enclosed, 2,700-square-foot gastrobar on the ground floor of Millenia Walk. The name suits in terms of the offerings, a triumvirate of oenophile-pleasing concepts: a wine bar, a wine gallery that retails over 100 varieties of pedigreed Swiss wines plus old- and new-world labels, and a swish restaurant with sommelier service to boot. Chef Jeffrey Tan rose through the ranks at a number of well-regarded Singapore establishments before entering this stainless steel-clad open kitchen. Consider the Murray Bridge lamb rack resting on a subtle aubergine purée with ratatouille. The lobster risotto with mascarpone, baby spinach and Parmesan is an authentic Italian standout on the otherwise French-Swiss menu. We appreciated the chef’s willingness to prepare the Chilean sea bass in tomato confit with green beans but without the saffron beurre blanc. Also on the menu are fondue dips and pungent raclette.
