Ruth's Chris Steak House Restaurant Review:
This Ruth's Chris Steak House is distinguished by a view of the Atlanta skyline from Midtown to Downtown as large windows capture the sweep. Aim for a corner table to enjoy it to the max. The signature aspect of a Ruth's Chris steak is its being served on a plate that's heated to about 400 degrees, keeping it hot. Cut into the meat, and then you may cook it more by pressing pieces against the hot plate; be sure to order yours less well done than you might normally. Oysters (in season) and crayfish appetizers reflect the New Orleans roots of this operation, as do barbecued shrimp and shrimp rémoulade. Bone-in filet mignon and bone-in strip are the specialties. Salmon and Chilean sea bass are options, as is a vegetarian plate. Side dishes easily serve at least two people --- we recommend any of the potato dishes (potatoes au gratin remains a signature dish) and the creamed spinach. Bread pudding with whiskey sauce speaks New Orleans. An extensive California-focused wine list has good choices in both reds and whites, with many offered by the glass. Other wine regions are represented, although inexplicably, not South Africa. Numerous dessert wines are available by the bottle and glass. At this location, Happy Hour (called "Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl") runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily, and features drink specials. Other locations.
