Snooze Restaurant Review:
This egg-ceptional downtown shrine to breakfast commands excruciatingly long waits, but it's worth the jostling to experience the adrenaline rush that comes from inhaling the joint's flapjacks, hashes, Benedicts and breakfast tacos. The groovy space, tricked out in retro-modern furnishings---think lots of chrome, a color scheme of naval orange and ocean aqua and Formica-topped tables---is overrun with hipsters, urban families with tots in tow and power-brokers who nail out moneyed deals during the work week. It’s a scene, to be sure, but the food is the main focus: locals go, well, loco, for the pineapple upside-down pancake studded with caramelized sweet fruit and topped with cinnamon butter and the breakfast potpie, a puff pastry smothered with rosemary-scented sausage gravy side-kicked with buttery hash browns. And the hash, made in-house, exposes poblano peppers and onions tangling with crisp-edged nubs of corned beef. While breakfast generates the most buzz, the short lunch menu parades a few winners, including the tomato soup sided with a grilled three-cheese sandwich.
