Sonoma Cellar Restaurant Review:
Sonoma Cellar at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino underwent a significant renovation and sports an updated décor and menu. Evoking a wine cellar, the original design endures with arched stone walls throughout. The food is disarmingly simple and very good. Appealing starters include smoked pork belly and lobster bisque, followed by grilled and sautéed steakhouse fare. Only USDA Prime beef is served, cooked over mesquite coals. We like the filet mignon and the Prime aged New York cuts. Sauces to accompany your steak include garlic-cilantro, peppercorn, chimichurri, roasted shallot demi, house-made steak sauce and béarnaise. Among other options are the lamb T-bone and the Strauss veal chop. New York cheesecake and peanut butter pie are appealing sweet finales.
