THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Beach Bay Café & Patio Restaurant Review:

Beach Bay Café honors its predecessor, the much-loved 22-year-old Raincity Grill, by focusing on fresh, ingredient-driven West Coast fare. A refurbished, bright white interior with a wall of sliding windows overlooks the heated patio and expansive English Bay beach scenery. If you're dining inside, white high-top tables and comfortable stools ensure that every seat is a view seat. Settle in with an Aviation cocktail while looking over the menu. Start with the cured albacore tuna (likely caught right out front in English Bay) followed by local sockeye salmon with mussels, buttermilk potatoes, beans and fresh dill, or the tender strip loin of beef (from the owner's nearby farm) with plums, and a mushroom-barley-radicchio medley. Do order the bread, thick slices of sweet pain au lait served with house-made elderflower honey butter. Save room for the flourless chocolate cake with spruce-tip ice cream. A first-rate wine list assembled by hospitality pro (and one of BC's top sommeliers) general manager Andrea Vescovi offers gems from nearby BC wine regions and tempting selections from the wine world's cellars. Service shines. Topnotch waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. And the “A-maze-ing Laughter” circle of bronze guys doubled over in gales of laughter across the street? That's Vancouver’s most photographed sculpture.
