Bistro 211 Restaurant Review

: At this locals' spot, try chef Jon Magnusson's specialty, the house-made cold-smoked salmon, by itself or served on an open-face quesadilla. Or savor mushroom "cappuccino" presented in a coffee cup with a dollop of foamy crème fraîche. Euro-influenced specials such as duck Chambord or hearty beef stroganoff work well here, especially on cold, foggy days. Unusual desserts include marzipan rolled around vanilla ice cream. A weekend brunch crowd inhales such specialties as turkey Benedict, french toast topped with mango and raspberry, cheese blintzes or the Spanish omelet flipped with chorizo. Diners also enjoy free Wi-Fi and a "doghouse menu" for canine companions.
