Last time we looked, shark was not on the menu, but just about everything else was in this delightful former home just off State Street. We always start with his warm spinach salad with goat cheese, capers, bacon, mushrooms and sherry maple dressing. If we’re starving, we order the huge braised lamb shank with veal jus on garlic-mashed potatoes, or risotto laden with fresh vegetables and Parmesan. There’s a long list heavy on top-notch Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valley wines.
