![]() : Margaux’s old-world setting of damask-covered armchairs, intimate booths, handcrafted glass chandeliers and dramatic mural-painted domed ceiling creates an environment of understated elegance. Cashews, caper berries, and kalamata olives are ready for nibbling in the handsome bar, elevated slightly above the dining room where a hidden nook invites canoodling over a good martini --- poured from a silver shaker into a stemless glass resting in a bowl of ice water. Start with crispy sea scallops and foie gras or potato croquettes with Roquefort cheese. Follow with a salad of endive, Gorgonzola and roasted apples, all gently dressed with walnut vinaigrette. Entrée favorites include the bouillabaisse packed with shrimp, clams, mussels, salmon and cod; duck breast in an orange sauce; and grilled lamb chops with basil oil. For dessert, if the apple tarte Tatin doesn't appeal, inquire about the crème brûlée of the month or the cake du jour. A knowledgeable staff is ready to help guide your wine selections. |
