Cafe Belge Restaurant Review

: White linen tablecloths, marble floors, a raw seafood bar and an impressive alcohol display all contribute to Café Belge’s warm atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto the terrace with an al fresco seating and lounge area. Smooth tunes play throughout the restaurant as the friendly staff accommodates patrons. The menu focuses on the classic Belgian Grand Café style cuisine, with the highlight being seafood, specifically mussels. Three preparation styles are available: Hoegaarden white beer, Champagne cream and tomato. Each order is served with bread, Belgian frites and mayonnaise. Because the raw bar is also one of the specialties, a selection of fresh seafood is suggested, including a platter of oysters, shucked to order. Mains vary from roasted duck breast to a variety of steaks and grilled fish --- there’s enough to keep the carnivores and pescatarian types happy, but the vegetarian category is lacking. Desserts are plentiful, and include a traditional Belgian waffle à la mode, paired with the signature speculoos ice cream. Peruse the array of Belgian beer and classic cocktails, which utilize the best ingredients on the market --- consider the Laurent Perrier Bellini, peachy, effervescent and uplifting. The extensive wine list includes several options by the glass, and bottles consist of varietals from all over the world. An evening meal is the best time to enjoy everything Café Belge has to offer, as the dim lighting and cool ambience make it a unique dining experience in Dubai.
