Checkered cloths on the tables around the little bar, and opera on the stereo, give this new spot an authentically Italian feel. In fact, the specialty is penne con La Norma, of tomato, eggplant and mozzarella. The list of pastas is impressive---we consider tortellini with prosciutto, Parmesan and peas, or fusilli carbonara, or fettuccine with wild mushrooms---all excellent possibilities for lunch or dinner, with a salad. Entrées of chicken or veal or seafood, pale beside all these dishes. Desserts are made everyday, and may include strawberry Bavarian, apple cake or, you guessed it, tiramisu.
