This sister restaurant to downtown’s dreamlike Rama has long been a Hillcrest favorite. Grab a bite of authentic Thai cuisine by chef SoNsi, then hit the strip for a Landmark film or to get your groove on at one of the many nearby nightclubs. The menu is traditional---no fusion fare here. For starters, go for the grilled shrimp skewers with tangy tamarind dipping sauce and the light, airy fried tofu triangles with plum sauce. Curries are rich and complex; we like the coconut milk-green curry with eggplant, green peppers, green beans and basil as well as the pad prik king (spicy green beans stir-fried with tofu squares and fiery curry paste).
