THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Charlie's Hamburger Joint Restaurant Review:
Gently ribbing those Golden Arches, Charlie's brazenly brandishes the slogan, "Over two dozen sold." In reality, thousands of burgers are flipped every day at this near-town location and its other suburban sites. These monuments to meat are sizzled on a griddle---one at a time---and served on a well-buttered bun that also does time on the heated surface. Those with gourmet sensibilities can add mushrooms, guacamole and the like, if they insist, and even persnickety calorie-counters can munch on char-grilled chicken breast sandwiches, salads, soft tacos and baked potatoes. Add the wholesome ambience of vintage soda-pop signage, '50s vinyl and aluminum chairs, an outdoor patio and ice-cold beer, and this place has a golden touch all its own. Our only complaint is that the burgers are sometimes greasy and the service can slide.
