![]() : This corner of Potrero Hill bustles with diners from all over town. They travel to this tiny bistrot to sample French flavors from the team behind Plouf, the downtown spot for bowls of steaming mussels, and the bigger-ticket Chez Papa Resto. Chez Papa Bistrot has mussels too, by way of a saffron-and-curry soup beautifully presented with the dark blue shells of the bivalve rising up from the ochre-colored broth. All the small plates here are winners, from the artichoke salad drizzled with olive oil and studded with capers and lemon zest to the charcuterie plate loaded up with cornichons, spicy Dijon mustard and a pile of cured meat. If the tables begin to feel too tightly packed and the noise starts to prohibit casual conversation, just gaze out the two huge corner windows and dig into a dish of Gallic charm. |
