THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cosmo Rouge Bistro & Lounge Restaurant Review

: Cosmo Rouge is a pioneer of dramatic urbane hipness in the artsy but frumpy Bishop Street Arts District. Lounge at the bar with one of the house cocktails to steel yourself for a meal in the dining room draped in ruby red velvet. The very high-backed platinum leather-covered chairs sit far too low to the ground for tables so tall you'll feel like Alice in Wonderland. If only the food were as dramatic as the setting. But the menu is a mishmash of contemporary Mediterranean influences. Moussaka, panini and burgers co-exist with steak frites and paella, with just about all of it barely adequate. The menu changes seasonally, so maybe a different time of year could bring positive changes.
