The Crack Shack Restaurant Review:

“Top chef” alum Richard Blais took San Diego by storm with his modern-chic Juniper & Ivy. His The Crack Shack is a fun outdoor "coop" with casual walk-up service and tasty eats. Weekends are packed with post-farmers market shoppers enjoying Bloody Marys or craft beers with their fried chicken, slaw, biscuits and more. The menu celebrates free-range chicken and organic eggs with a medley of dishes, such as chicken sate with peanut sauce, chicken lollipops, deviled eggs and Mexican poutine. Gourmet chicken sandwiches include the Brick House, which consists of plump crispy chicken with caper mayo, arugula and fennel on a Kaiser bun; and the Señor Croque --- think crispy chicken with bacon, a fried egg, cheddar and miso-maple syrup. The Border Slaw has nuggets of mango, papaya, coconut, jícama and chili, while the Cracked Classic Slaw is elevated by kimchi, kale and agave mustard. Sweet cravings are satisfied with soft-serve ice cream with toppings like candied bacon and marshmallow meringue.
