Launched in Decatur, Crescent Moon is the chow of choice at this suburban mall. Stoke up before hitting the shopping circuit, re-fuel between boutiques at lunch, or snag dinner before heading home. Popular breakfast items include fluffy pancakes, egg dishes and even huge stuffed baked potatoes. There’s an emphasis on organic ingredients in many dishes, and stone-ground grits (the right stuff) for breakfast. Besides homemade soups and sandwiches, you can order hearty dinners of meatloaf, fried onion rings and mashed potatoes. New York-style lemon cheesecake adds punch to the dessert menu, although the specific flavors vary daily. Thanks to the Greek heritage of its owners, Steve Vastakis and John Kastanos, the menu here adds pastas, some Greek specialties---moussaka---and lasagna. Because the mall closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday, this location closes on Sunday at 7 p.m., two hours earlier than Decatur or Northlake.
