![]() : Located in the heart of Cleveland Heights’ Cedar Lee Business District --- a two-block stretch of eateries and galleries --- Dewey’s offers a bright, kid-friendly setting that also appeals to adult sensibilities. As it turns out, the modern, industrial environs and friendly service are a good fit for this neighborhood full of young families and coffeehouse types. Pizzas can be ordered right off the menu (we like the meat-lovers Bronx Bomber as well as Dr. Dre, which is baked with green peppers, red onions, Amish chicken, bacon and jalapeños and then finished with diced tomatoes and ranch). Diners are welcome to create their own pies, too. Using Dewey's traditional red or white sauce as a base, there are nearly 20 "regular" toppings (sausage, pineapple, capers and olives) and 15 “gourmet” toppings (Gorgonzola, prosciutto, buffalo chicken and pesto) from which to choose. Salads are fine companions and include a house version with field greens, romaine, pine nuts, goat cheese and dried cranberries. Calzones are available in the make-your-own style. A long list of tap brews bumps Dewey's up from clever pizza joint to legitimate dining destination. Beware, though; wait times can be killer here. |
