Basically, this is the Stop-N-Go of the Gods, where you can dash in for a selection of the finest foods available in Houston, along with wines, fresh flowers and even picnic-ready plastic ware---all for a price, of course. Grab dinner on the way home, or pack up for a weekend of indulgence. Whatever you get, you should select at least one of the dozens of breads baked daily. Find sushi, tubs of simple mashed potatoes with a clover-fresh sprinkle of parsley, good ol' King Ranch-style casseroles, vegetarian enchiladas, lasagnas, quiches, pasta dishes and whatever entrées the chefs were inspired to make that day. Dagwoods, built with the best meats and cheeses, are available at the deli counter, which also ships out box lunches by the bale. A circular counter is the center of the store and it’s where you'll find chilled prepared dishes ranging from poached salmon with raspberry coulis to hummus. Whatever you do, don’t miss the desserts counter.
