Fischer's Restaurant Review:

Probably only Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, those consummate restaurateurs, could get away with an Austrian coffeehouse. They produced The Wolseley, The Delaunay, Brasserie Zedel and Colbert, so why not try something new? It describes itself as a local place to linger in, but it’s a pretty grand local. Tiled walls, marble floors, black leather banquettes and bentwood chairs fill the dining room that’s dominated by a large clock. Photographs on the walls and gold-rimmed plates inscribed with the name evoke a family affair in turn of the century Vienna pretty successfully. The menu runs through the Germanic favorites from various herrings served with pickled vegetables to chopped liver, from schnitzels to sausages that take in frankfurters as well as juicy examples from Thüringer and Berner Würstel, or bacon-wrapped pork and garlic sausages with Emmental. Wash it down with some interesting Austrian and German wines from an eclectic list, many of which are available by the glass.
