The Fox Diner is a pleasant, bohemian eatery serving creative downhome comfort food. With an arty interior with paint-dribbled floors, ever-changing art installations and fresh flowers, the Fox is an comfortable place for adventurous dining. As with any good diner, there are daily specials with interesting chef’s choices and gourmet specials along with Tuesday’s King Ranch casserole and Thursday’s friend chicken, some of the finest you’ll eat. Among the many deluxe sandwiches to choose from, we recommend the black pepper pork loin on a fresh roll with zesty pear chowchow and the green tomato po-boy with goat cheese, fresh basil and red pepper mayo. Order a sandwich and you get to choose from an array of sides which include corn pudding, grits, rosemary or smashed potatoes, to name a few. The pricey entrées are industrious as well. Beef tenderloin stuffed with spinach and feta cheese, roasted Pacific salmon, herb-crusted snapper with crab and chili and cinnamon-seared pork chops are just a few of the wonderful offerings. Just for fun you might want to try the Real Texas Frito Pie, yep-it’s even served in a yellow Frito bag. Superb dessert choices include Savannah sherry cream cake and chocolate Marquis de Sade. The Fox Diner also offers a popular Sunday buffet.
