: Spicy edamame sprinkled with togarashi and served with a habanero aïoli with a slow burn; lettuce wraps packed with the likes of spice-rubbed pork tenderloin and marinated vegetables: the menu at Fredrick’s Fusion Bistro melds Asian, Californian and Italian cuisines with tasty results. Phyllo-wrapped crab is nicely presented, featuring tender crab and an orange beurre blanc. The "Money Booter" sushi roll is a house specialty with spicy soft shell crab, avocado, cucumber and tsume, topped with habanero aïoli (a house favorite). Dinner offers a range of flavors, from "Coffin Bread" --- house-made stuffed toast with spicy beef and peppers --- to the seafood hot pot with prawns, scallops and lobster dumplings, and the firecracker chicken that can be ordered extra hot. Do not bypass dessert, especially the "coffee and doughnuts," Fredrick’s take on beignets with deep-fried dough dipped in cinnamon sugar and paired with a mocha emulsion. The Godiva mochatinis are worth a visit in themselves. Check the restaurant's website for hours, as they may vary seasonally. |
