THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Front Page News Restaurant Review:
The hip millennial crowd that calls this intown neighborhood home feeds its soul and body at Front Page News, which feels like a pub. Snacks include pretzel bites --- pieces of soft pretzel with a bland cheese dip or zingier honey mustard for dipping. Wings are a better choice. Besides the sandwiches, wraps and burgers, FPN purveys full plate specials, including a fish 'n' chips with a Sweetwater 420 beer batter. Numerous tastes of Louisiana fare include a pair of gumbos, jambalaya, étouffee, a Gulf shrimp po'boy and the famous Creole meatloaf. Local tastes are represented in a shrimp-and-grits dish. The wine list is pedestrian, so savor a local or Louisiana brew. Brunch features a 100-item build-your-own Bloody Mary bar and still more NOLA flavors, such as pain perdu. NOLA tastes also top the dessert list, with a bread pudding. Kids are welcome up to 10 p.m.
