THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fung Shing Restaurant Review:
Fung Shing is a longtime Chinatown kitchen that has expanded over the years into a smart, large restaurant. Polite waiters (a rarity in Chinatown) will advise if needed but for the conventional the stalwarts are all there: grilled King prawns with garlic sauce, and duck with mashed yam. The adventurous will find plenty to please from the chef’s specials which include the likes of stir-fried eel in a basket or braised abalone with sea cucumber. Seafood is well done and you can push the boat out with lobster and crab or go the whole hog with the £75 dish of braised double boiled shark’s fin in hot pot. The wine list is ambitious. There’s a good range of set menus for groups from two people (£36) to five people (£90).
