Harpoon Henry's Seafood Restaurant Restaurant Review:
A sibling of Dana Point Harbor’s Wind & Sea Restaurant, Harpoon Henry’s is yet another staple in the harbor’s dining and entertainment scene. It has a prime location for scenic waterfront views, which makes it a destination unto itself. The interior may seem a bit outdated with its over-the-top nautical décor, but the locals and tourists seem to revel in the old-time kitsch. Some hang out at the bar for a cold brew or tropical cocktails. Luckily, the food has stayed consistent over the years, with pub grub, rustic-style grilled seafood items and Prime steaks. At lunch, burgers, sandwiches and salads appear on the menu, but there are also fresh fish selections. Dinner features a solid mix of classic fish-based entrées such as swordfish, macadamia nut-encrusted mahi mahi and maple soy glazed-salmon, and those who prefer to stick to the land have options like Hawaiian-style chicken and rib-eye steak prepared in a pineapple-soy-ginger marinade. A nice assortment of after-dinner cocktails and desserts helps complete a well-rounded meal. The bar scene heats up during happy hour (weekdays from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., Saturdays from noon-4 p.m.), and on weekend nights, when live bands rock the ocean-view lounge.
