Istanbul Blue Restaurant Review:
Although there are a limited number of Turkish restaurants in the metro area, Vienna is home to this small destination. Turkish food is essentially a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean spread, so at this authentically traditional eatery, enjoy such familiar selections as hummus, cooked red lentils and falafel that take their places on the menu. Beyond those are such dishes as cigari borek (phyllo-wrapped feta cheese), imam bayildi (sautéed diced eggplant), incik kebob (braised lamb shanks) and sutlac (Turkish rice pudding). Choose from assorted Turkish pizzas (such as the lahmacun, made with ground lamb), vegetable lasagna and the sandwiches and seafood entrées, too. Do not skip past the baklava and a few sips of Turkish wine, such as the yeni raki, a great ending to an exotic meal. The setting includes walls painted in striking blue and white colors.
