THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Japan Inn Restaurant Restaurant Review:
One of Washingtons oldest Japanese restaurants, this place attracts local Japanese businessmen and folks from the Japanese Embassy. But plenty of others head here for the solid Japanese cooking and for the drama of the teppanyaki grill upstairs, where the energetic chef heats up the central grill, oils it well, then cooks orders in stages---meats first, vegetables last---seasoning and stirring all the while. Hes all business: He doesnt toss his cleaver, ingredients or raw eggs into the air in comic antics. Try one of the combination grill dinners for a good sampling of flavors. The extensive menu offers plenty of classic Japanese dishes served in other dining areas, too. In any case, dont miss out on the ginger ice cream for dessert.
