THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jianna Restaurant Review:
Time, and the economy, may have dulled Valiani's food a bit since Jianna first opened in the midst of the boom, but the menu is still creative and delicious. Appetizers like duck confit salad with grilled apricots and the grilled asparagus served over goat cheese fondue with roasted tomato vinaigrette give reliable American flavors a kick. Entrées do the same and sometimes take on an Asian inspiration, like the Thai-style shellfish chowder. Desserts are bargain priced and petite, just right after the complex first and main courses. The look of Jianna, done by designer Nancy Irish, is sexy and sensuous---consider the light fixtures made from gilded woks, the copper ceiling in the bar, and the faux copper columns.
