THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Flor de la Canela Restaurant Review:
Having gone through a name change, from The Chicken Place to the more fitting La Flor de la Canela, this restaurant continues with its all-Peruvian menu, putting chicken into a supporting, not leading, role. You should look for such national favorites as the appetizers papa rellena and papa à la huancaina, both sturdy, filling dishes with potatoes taking top billing; for the chupe de camarones, or shrimp soup in a creamy broth studded with fresh peas, corn, rice, egg and, of course, shrimp; and the cau cau (beef tripe stew) and chicharron de puerco, deep-fried pork cubes with a spicy dipping sauce. It's hard to fault the food or even the ambience, but the service tends to drag.
