While décor varies by locations, all of the La Paz restaurants reflect different aspects of Mexican culture. A good start to any meal is chile con queso, melted white cheese with onions, tomatoes, chiles and spices. The original is delicious and quite picante thanks to the chiles, but the spinach version is equally good. Chips are fresh, and baskets combine regular yellow, red- and blue-corn chips. For vegetarians, the black bean soup is a good opening choice, swirled with a smoked yellow pepper sauce. Good salsa, chunky with chopped tomatoes, onions and cilantro, is also deeply seasoned with tangy pepper. Soups stand out, as do the fish and chicken dishes. Vegetarians will find lots to like.
