La Terraza del Casino Restaurant Review:
Fusing the best of Casino de Madrid’s past, present and future, this crisp and peaceful rooftop restaurant was created by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. Specially crafted furniture and cool tones reflect the experimentation and innovation that can be seen in Paco Roncero’s dishes. It is a union of high design, creativity and uncompromising culinary ambition. Start with tapas such as salmon marinated in miso with deconstructed tartar sauce, and hearty ramen of eel with pork belly. Main course dishes from “The Sea and The Soil” include oxtail with porcini mushrooms and Chinese cabbage, pigeon with gele cru apples, and sole a la meunière. A comprehensive tasting menu complete with a welcome cocktail is also available for those who want to delve deeper into the flavors. An extensive wine menu features a wide and considered selection of D.O. Spanish labels. Try a white Rioja from the Contador Bodega or sample the local terroir with reds from the nearby Regajal and Comando G bodegas. Desserts such as sheep cheese cake or strawberries and cream will help bring your taste buds back down to earth. The house gin and tonics are simply unmissable.
