THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES A La Turka Turkish Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Intimate lighting and lilting music help make this authentic Turkish restaurant romantic, especially when you sit in one of the window alcoves decorated with murals and strewn with exotic textiles. Knowing what to order is the key to having an enjoyable meal here. Good bets include the cold appetizer combination, stuffed grape leaves, doner kebabs (also available in combination plates) and pepper-stuffed eggplant. There are plenty of more elaborate dishes, too, but we find them hit or miss. Baklava and other pastries are best the day they're made, but the rice pudding is first-rate any time. Turkish wine, beer and potent raki are on hand to fuel revelry. After 8 p.m. on Fridays and 9 p.m. on Saturdays, the place gets extra-lively thanks to belly dancing performances. All meat is halal/zabiha.
