Latium Restaurant Review:
Conveniently situated for shoppers and visitors to the British Museum, just to the north of Oxford Street, is this modern, simply decorated Italian restaurant. Everything involves clean-cut flavors, combined with pleasing presentation, and is served by knowledgeable staff. A plate of crostini is brought to your table while you mull over the menu. Inventive dishes include antipasti of aubergine baked timbale “Parmigiana” and smoked provola; and raviolone of spinach and ricotta, quail egg and white truffle butter. There’s a good selection of meat and fish --- we recommend the seared scallops with candied orange, purple potatoes and Romanesco cabbage. Desserts are notable too, but the rest of the meal is what really excites the palate. Lunch and pre-theatre menu 2 courses £16; 3 courses £21.
