: On weekends, Lulu’s is a dim sum destination. Customers stream in by the carful for classics like steamed egg custard buns, shrimp dumplings, edamame, spare ribs and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf as well as specialties like spicy tofu squares and steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce. The dessert cart’s always full of delectable choices, but we find it hard to resist the fried sesame balls with red bean paste. During the regular weekday lunches and dinners, bilingual signs in the foyer announce the day’s specials, but you can’t go wrong ordering the day’s fresh fish (whether or not it’s on the menu). The kitchen has a deft hand when it comes to hot pots and plates featuring everything from lamb to eggplant. Elaborately carved chairs and sparkly light fixtures mark the décor. |
