Mache Bistro Restaurant Review

: The menu at this rustic French bistro not only changes nightly, but chef Kyle Yarborough might not even have it set until mere hours before you arrive, so fresh from the farm is the cuisine. Start with his version of a lobster roll, featuring fresh Maine lobster, caramelized onions and Brie rolled in griddle-crisped flatbread, then move on to the simple salad with French greens, blue cheese, dried cherries, candied pecans and vinaigrette --- it’s anything but simple in its flavors. Main dishes may include bouillabaisse or seared scallops with olive oil mashed potatoes and caramelized onions. Meat or poultry lovers might choose the grilled hanger steak or the grilled duck, both served with sides. For dessert, try the chocolate flourless torte with espresso ganache and cinnamon gelato or the Baileys and coffee infused chocolate pot de crème topped with sweet whipped cream, if you’re lucky enough to be there when they’re on the menu. The wine-by-the-glass list offers something for every dish, while the beers feature Bar Harbor brews.
